| Do age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy require surgery? |
|---|
|
Not always. Intravitreal injections are often the main treatment for conditions such as wet age-related macular degeneration and diabetic macular edema. Depending on the diagnosis and severity, treatment may also include laser therapy or vitrectomy. We choose the approach after reviewing the retinal examination, OCT, and any necessary vascular imaging. |
