Clinical Presentation on LAL Surgery by Dr. Sung-Jin Na at the 2025 Korean Retina Society Meeting

On December 14, at the 2025 Annual Meeting of the Korean Retina Society held at the Grand Walkerhill Seoul,
Dr. Sung-Jin Na, CEO of First Samsung Eye Clinic, presented the clinical outcomes of scleral fixation using the Light Adjustable Lens (LAL).

In his presentation, Dr. Na explained the application and clinical results of LAL in patients with intraocular lens (IOL) dislocation, including cases involving vitrectomy, IOL exchange, and Yamane scleral fixation techniques.

Through this academic presentation, Dr. Na demonstrated that LAL offers a viable and effective treatment option even in complex surgical settings such as scleral fixation, with the potential to simultaneously improve visual outcomes and patient satisfaction.
His findings received strong interest and positive evaluations from attending retinal specialists.

Furthermore, as the surgeon with the most extensive clinical experience with LAL procedures in Korea, Dr. Na also shared insights into the future expansion of treatment indications and research directions for LAL, based on a large body of clinical data accumulated across various high-difficulty surgical scenarios.
