First Samsung Eye Clinic’s Chief Director, Dr. Sung Ho Choi,

was officially invited as a speaker at the 38th Annual Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Association of Cataract and

Refractive Surgeons (APACRS), held from June 4 to 6 at the Pattaya Convention Center in Thailand.

Dr. Choi delivered a presentation during a symposium on the topic of “Post-Cataract Surgery Refractive Refinement Using the Light Adjustable Lens (LAL).”

The session brought together leading ophthalmic specialists from countries including Singapore and Canada, and Dr. Choi represented Korea as an invited speaker.

During his presentation, Dr. Choi shared in-depth clinical insights based on real-world cases and surgical outcomes from procedures he personally performed.

In particular, he highlighted the advantages of the Light Adjustable Lens (LAL) in managing complex cases,

including patients who had previously undergone refractive surgeries such as LASIK or LASEK, where accurate intraocular lens power prediction can be challenging.

Through actual clinical cases, he demonstrated how LAL technology enables precise postoperative adjustment of refractive outcomes,

effectively correcting residual myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism after cataract surgery.

The presentation attracted significant interest from attending ophthalmologists and members of the press,

leading to an active question-and-answer session that further underscored the clinical value of LAL technology.

First Samsung Eye Clinic remains committed to providing clearer and more comfortable vision for patients through continuous research, academic excellence,

and the adoption of the latest medical technologies.

Thank you.
