Dr.Choi Invited as Speaker at the 2026 KSCRS Annual Symposium Presenting Clinical Data Comparing LASIK, PRK, and CLEAR

Dr. Sungho Choi, Director of First Samsung Eye Clinic,
was invited as an official speaker at the
2026 Annual Symposium of the Korean Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (KSCRS),
held on Saturday, July 11 at Seoul Dragon City.

His presentation was titled
"Comparison of Clinical Outcomes:
Wavefront-Optimized LASIK,
Wavefront-Optimized PRK,
and KLEx (CLEAR)."

LASIK, PRK, and CLEAR all correct vision by reshaping the cornea,
yet each approaches the cornea in a different way.
Because these methods differ, the quality of vision that patients
actually experience after surgery may also differ.

For this reason, rather than asking which procedure is superior,
it is far more important to find the approach that best suits each patient's eyes.
Only when the procedure is chosen according to an individual's
ocular condition and lifestyle can both visual acuity and
visual quality be improved together.

With this in mind, Dr. Choi presented a comparison of the three procedures
under a single, consistent standard, based on
actual clinical data from surgeries he performed himself,
examining the outcomes each procedure leaves behind.

This presentation held meaningful significance in that it offered
a new and objective standard — one that helps determine
not "which procedure is better,"
but "which procedure is better suited to this particular patient."

Following the presentation, an active question-and-answer session took place,
with attending physicians engaging in in-depth academic discussion
and showing considerable interest in the findings.

First Samsung Eye Clinic will continue to devote itself to ongoing research
and active academic engagement with the latest medical technologies,
so that we may offer our patients clearer and more comfortable vision.
Thank you.
